We hope you’ll enter the Bournemouth In Bloom/Bournemouth Horticultural Society 2018 competition. Whether your garden’s traditional or unconventional there’s sure to be a category for you.
Residential categories include large and small gardens, communal grounds for retirement blocks and flats, hanging baskets, window boxes, patios and mobile home private gardens. Commercial premises can enter too with classes for large and small hotels, nursing homes, language schools, cafes, pubs, places of worship, sports facilities, arcades, libraries and shopping centres. So if you have space to grow, get planting and create an area to be proud of. There are also prizes for environmentally friendly spaces and accessible sensory gardens that stimulate sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste and wellbeing.
This year there are also three special categories for trees including ‘Champion Trees’ for those notable for their size or age, of uncommon species or of heritage value.
You can enter online via bournemouthinbloom.co.uk or get a competition entry form from Beryl Parker, secretary of Bournemouth In Bloom, 101 Craigmoor Avenue, Bournemouth, BH8 9LT (please include a stamped addressed envelope).
The closing date is Saturday 16th June 2018.
The prize-giving is on Wednesday 17th October at the Carlton Hotel, BH1 3DN starting at 7.30pm … make that a date for your diary!
